Been getting that recently. I could be ready to go to sleep but when I lay down, sleepiness goes away.

So far, I've been trying to rituals of soothing music, hot cocoa, aromatherapy, bible-reading (not to say that it's what I use to go to sleep), and stretching before bed.

Most likely, the reason for your insomnia is from too much thinking. You need to tone your mind down so that you can get into the sleep mode.

Here are some solutions you can try:

1. Get up and do what you need to do so that you can get it out of your system.
2. Write down on a notepad all the things you will need to do or will do the next day.
3. Lay down and tell yourself that you will close your eyes for 20 minutes only. (You can fool yourself to go to sleep using this method.)
4. Eat some simple carbs before going to bed.
5. Pray (Not only is this great for your relationship with God, but it can also rest your mind and put you at ease. Don't forget to say goodnight to God~.)
