Compliment others better than anybody. A child that is raised with much encouragement, tends to have more positivity.
Proper Encouragement
1. Embrace the child as is. If a child says, "Mom, why am I so dark-skinned?" Then have the heart to say things like, "But you look healthy because you are dark-skinned."
2. Teach them by pointing out their positive behaviors. "Let's read this together." "Seeing how you are playing so well together, I can tell that you've grown so much."
3. Show them that you trust and support your child. If they say, "What if I drop out of the elections?" then reply with, "I'm sure you'll do well since you worked hard to prepare for this."
4. Acknowledge their efforts over their successes. If they say, "I'm sorry. I was wrong." Say, "But since you worked harder than last time, it turned out better, didn't it?" This will help your child to grow to be a better child.
5. Help them to recognize their strengths and value. If they say, "Mom, I will help you." Then say, "Thank you. Your helping me clean up is making my job so much easier. Thank you." If you encourage them like this, they will be very happy.
